When you have long cable runs or a number of DMX light fixtures you might be in need of a DMX signal terminator. Signal loss can occur. Some fixtures have switchable line-terminating resistors built in. In these cases make sure that only the last item in the chain has its terminating switch set to the on position. If the last item (farthest from the data source) does not have a switch then an external line terminator like this one will be needed. Line termination will not correct a bad cable or interference from running a DMX cable next to an electrical cable. High power electrical cables will cause interference. This is for 3-pin units.
