Who do I buy DJ Equipment from?

It has come to be that the internet is the way many of us do some shopping. You need some gum and a loaf of bread you run to corner store and you are good. Need a new pair of shoes you run to the mall on the other side of town. You need some DJ equipment and you might not have anyone around? Most of the bigger cities do but there are a lot towns that do not and the ones that do don't and can't carry everything. Thus the internet!

On the internet you can find about anything you want. Product information, pictures and videos. You have the option to call in, email and order directly online and have it shipped right to your door.

I need a new light. I go to search engine and type in DJ Light. It pulls up thousands of results. Who do I buy from? Here is the scoop and nothing but the scoop! Question back at you. Who is the authorized dealer for the equipment they are selling? Do you know?

First off, we and any authorized dealer have a map price structure to follow. What that means is if you look at us, in Florida, or a place in Texas or Ohio or Washington or any state in the US if they are authorized dealers for Chauvet, American DJ, MBT, Elation and any other maker the items will be the same price.

We here in Florida have the same price as any other outfit that is an authorized dealer. I should also state that the map price applies to all NEW products. Not used or discontinued items. So if you see something on a site that the price seems a lot cheaper than the average, you better look to see if it is new, used or refurbished.

Now there are auction sites and we offer products there. Again an authorized dealer is to follow map price structure. Here is were the problem comes in on auction sites. This has been a royal pain for several years now. What some are doing is taking their own pictures and listing items below map price structure. That's great for you right? Probably not and here is why.

If you buy something because you saw it at a cheaper price you might not have a warranty. If you have troubles with the light you contact the maker in most cases for repair. Makers such as Chauvet, American DJ and so on will ask for a copy of the ticket when you bought the light. Not only do they want to make sure it is within the warranty time frame but also that you bought it from an authorized dealer. If you send them a ticket from someone they do not know they will refuse to repair and or you might billed for that repair.

So please take sometime and look around some. You can also go directly to the makers site and find a list of authorized dealers. Some have also started a page of non-authorized. They want you to know not to buy from some. So there is the inside scoop. Any questions please call 727-289-2241 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
