Halogen lamps are slowly going bye bye. With the LED lights now in place or taking over, halogen lamps are disappearing and it's a good idea to stock up.

Everyone knows to enhance your effect lighting you need to have fog to show off those beams, otherwise you only see the beam on the floor. What some never think about is smoke alarms. If you are planning on maybe a wedding reception in a private room at a hotel, you better be asking if they have smoke alarms. I you want to use fog you really should be asking everywhere you are hosting an event. Some places will tell you not to use fog and some might say it will be ok.

A lot of you probably already know this but for those who don't, here you go. A duty cycle is becoming an old school term. Today with LED lights it is not a need. Duty cycle was and is needed for DJ lights that use halogen lamps. Most halogen fixtures are recommended 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off. The higher end units like scanners and moving yokes with halogen lamps normally have high output cooling fans and can run all night. The basic fixtures like a Mushroom or Double Derby halogen unit has the duty cycle.

It has come to be that the internet is the way many of us do some shopping. You need some gum and a loaf of bread you run to corner store and you are good. Need a new pair of shoes you run to the mall on the other side of town. You need some DJ equipment and you might not have anyone around? Most of the bigger cities do but there are a lot towns that do not and the ones that do don't and can't carry everything. Thus the internet!

As the sands of time took away our beloved 8 track tapes, so will be the halogen lights. Take a moment and grieve, its ok. Replacing our beloved halogen lights will be LED.

LED lights last longer, do not overheat and can be used for hours at a time. Gone are the days of breakers tripping, LED's use much less power so the days of plugging in your sound system and a couple of lights and popping the breaker are gone!!
